Eski pou ena fler
Dan zot douniya?

For my not yet born great grandchildren.

I have borrowed from you what I’m consuming
But forgive me for not giving back
What belongs to you.
The Lord gave us a beautiful garden;
It’s now a graveyard.
Dear, dear children,
Will there be flowers
In your world?

ORPHELIA:

There’s fennel for you, and columbines: there’s rue for you; and here’s some for me: we may call it herb-grace o’ Sundays: O you must wear your rue with
a difference. There’s a daisy: I would give you some violets, but they withered all when my father died: they say he made a good end,–
(Hamlet, Act IV scene V)

ANTHURIUM

Anthurium, because it lasts for a long time
Is in people’s minds a welcome sign.
It brings forth luck, long life in beauty;
Drives out bad luck, gives joy and plenty.
It celebrates birth and death;
Success and failure, start and finish.
Flower and leaf may sooth your bath
Watch it! There may be hitch and itch.

SOURS: 10 recueils de poèmes – Renée Vivien – Kindle ebook

RENÉE VIVIEN

Born Pauline Mary Tarn (11 June 1877 – 18 November 1909), was a British poet who wrote in French, in the style of the Symbolistes and the Parnassiens. A high-profile lesbian in the Paris of the Belle Époque, she was as notable for her lifestyle as for her work, which has received more attention following a recent revival of interest in Sapphic verse. Many of her poems are autobiographical, reflecting a life of extreme hedonism, leading to early death. She was the subject of a pen-portrait by her friend Colette.

VERS D’AMOUR

POEM LAMOUR

Ena dan to lizie sansialite aswar,
O lazwa pa atann dan lakav solitid!
To labous ena gou parfen fri donn lespwar;
To lavwa fer mwa pans bann merveye prelid
Ki lamer mirmire pou selebre aswar.

Lor to figir ena nisa melankolik,
Bann serman eternel, deklarasion lamour;
To demars pe sigzer bann douser dramatik

EPITAF

Dousma-dousma somey ti rant dan permanans;
Nwar aswar dan kavo fer silans ranplas rev
Parey kouma konplent enn violon dan balans
Ki pe fonn dan labrim marenwar so sedev.
